Coordinates:

X: 726, Y: 3137

Additional information:

From the start point 444, 3091, there are some rocks that you can stand on to jump over to the top of a post holding a canvas. Run across the canvas to get to the rooftops, then jump down run across the top of a wall that takes you across a main path on the map. This next part gets tricky if you aren’t good at jumping. At the end of the wall, you jump onto a round topped structure, then, to the right, you will see a big vent thing sticking out that you can jump on, then over to a beam. From the beam, you jump to a pipe sticking out of the tower that hold up a bridge. Then jump from the pipe over to the bridge. Run across the bridge and you jump down to a pipe on the side of the other tower (that holds up the bridge) and then onto the rooftops. Almost home free, just need to run around the top of the building then over to the bank and jump down to the datacron.

We would like to thank Mark Barreira for additional information and screenshots.

I found a willpower datacron on Tatooine at 2076, 461… very difficult to get to

  2. Comment by PrincessChibi made on December 19, 2011 at 8:52 am

Tatooine, -2374, -1396 on edge of map. Stranded sandcrawler has two datacrons, no idea how to retrieve though.

    • Comment by Jahosefat made on December 20, 2011 at 1:06 am

The 2 on the sandcrawler can be collected by getting on the floating baloon that circles the map. You can get on the baloon from a part of a buried sandcrawler at the SW portion of the map. it takes about 30 minutes for the entire baloon loop…very slow

      • Comment by Outlandish made on December 23, 2011 at 4:38 am

The coordinates to get on the balloon are: -2336, 0

        • Comment by Decklen made on January 7, 2012 at 9:27 am

I got up on the sandcrawler with combinations of force push and force charge. Can either be done with same faction (via duel) or find some opposing faction to push you up there. Requires some timing and jumping, but you can get both easy.

ok i did it with the stones – ther is a way on the left of the umbrellas – quite easy when you are skilled in jumping^^

yeah, the “alternate” for the bank one is much easier and also FASTER and most of it you can stay on a lvl25 mount

I can’t manage to do the jump between the first and the second umbrella
how did you do ? from where to where did you jump ?

I also tryed the rock climbing, but without success..

I fund a other way: Go to wp x443 y3106.
    Jump there on big net.
Walk(ride) al the way around to a bridge u see there. cross this bridge with foot. then its a couple jump away from bank.

  6. Comment by Shiredragon made on December 22, 2011 at 12:35 am

The balloon ride takes about 30 minutes to the Datacrons.
The balloon round trip, if you are waiting for it to return, is 50 minutes. And that is timed, not estimated.

  7. Comment by Dave made on December 22, 2011 at 4:48 am

If make the jump successfully on the crawler to get the Matrix Shard, but miss your jump to the little ledge to get the +3 STR datacron, you can duel someone and be knocked back into it, if you line it up properly time it correctly. Took screenshots, but can’t post them here. =)

          • Comment by Neptuno made on May 31, 2012 at 8:00 am

not only that, but think about it, how can it repeat perfectly every day at this pace as implied?

this joker took the “about 40 minutes” and assumed it was exact and just added 40 over an over. guess what? its not.
as stated elsewhere, its closer to 50 minutes with the jump being 3/5 of the way through the route since it loops past it and you jump on the return trip.

taken the Exact measure of 50 minutes, its not evenly divisible into the 1440 minutes in a day.
the question i have is why people thought some guy implying he stood around 24 hours “verifying” this “schedule” was legit

Tip for Strength +3. Go in a group. If one of you makes it onto the platform, you can duel each other. If you have a combat jumping ability or if the person who made it onto the platform has a pulling ability, you don’t have to waste 40 minutes waiting for the next ride.

  12. Comment by SneakyPete made on December 31, 2011 at 12:20 am

The Aim +3 mod can be gotten to by Republic players by using a small cave called the Bantha Drifts Tunnel, which connects from the Dune Sea to the Central Chasm. Once there, head south to the crash site and then follow the instructions here to get the datacron.

    • Comment by Baia made on December 31, 2011 at 2:45 am

I’ve also found if you head west across the rock bridge at Outpost Salara, then make the first left to head south through Outlaw’s Den, you can get there that way too.

    • Comment by Zra-teh made on November 8, 2013 at 11:53 am

Bantha Drifts Tunnel starts at -706, -898 in Dune Sea

  13. Comment by Jason made on January 6, 2012 at 1:32 am

Word of warning, it’s not so easy to just drop down to the red datacron from the ledge above on the sandcrawler. I stood above the datacron, and carefully backed off the ledge to land on the platform…and the fall overshot the platform, and went all the way to the ground. I’m also pretty sure I was pushing forward as I fell to avoid that happening.

    • Comment by Joe made on October 24, 2013 at 3:34 pm

After I did the same, I saw someone else stand on the ledge and jump. Each time he went up, he tapped the button to move. After a few of these his feet hit the top, then “slipped off”. It worked for me too… after I took another balloon ride!

  14. Comment by Jason made on January 6, 2012 at 2:15 am

OK, now I’m livid. I tried it again, this time dropping off the edge forward…the fall overshot the platform by about 5 feet. Anybody know how to drop straight down without moving forward uncontrollably during the fall? This is ridiculous.

    • Comment by Jason made on January 6, 2012 at 3:10 am

The only thing I can think of is you have to fall at an angle toward the platform. But finding the right spot to fall from and the right angle is a trial-and-error deal, and at an hour per try, fahgeddaboutit. (Yes I’m replying to myself now, 4 wasted hours trying to get 3 strength has me ready for a padded room and men in white coats.)

      • Comment by Colin made on January 28, 2012 at 4:43 am

Change to walk mode ( / on numpad )

    • Comment by Zehrylin made on January 8, 2012 at 6:36 pm

The way I’ve found to fall straight down is to jump first, then make a tiny tap in the direction you want to go. It’s less movement than if you just try to fall to where you’re going.

      • Comment by Kalindar made on January 9, 2012 at 2:48 am

Just grabbed the 2 datacrons in the dune sea without the use of the ballon. We were able to do a duel and use force push abilities to grab them. Took us like 6 tries but we managed in the end.

        • Comment by Woohooo made on January 10, 2012 at 4:15 am

This works. You can get both easily with concussion charge.

        • Comment by Brittany made on January 10, 2012 at 4:54 am

When getting onto the platform for the strength datacron. What i did was i toggled “walk” and inched my way backwards til i fell onto it.

  15. Comment by utgard22 made on January 11, 2012 at 1:17 am

this is… just wonderful. after waiting for the balloon for about 10 minutes and riding it for 30, it just despawned right under my feet (almost killing me with the drop), maybe 2 minutes away from the datacrons.
good thing i’m so tired right now, otherwise i would be pretty pissed …
oh well, guess i’ll have to try again tomorrow… *sigh*

    • Comment by Margolis made on January 11, 2012 at 9:41 pm

same thing. except 4 times in 3 days it’s happened. 28 minutes into the ride the balloon resets and dumps everybody. I was alone the last time and was moving around the balloon the whole time. It didn’t reset because of standing too long as somebody else implied. Besides, it’s the same spot that it happens everytime almost withing spitting distance of the crawler.

this sucks, I give up on it. Too bad it’s the only datacron on the planet that I actually want as a Jedi Guardian…

      • Comment by JenoKlu made on March 4, 2012 at 6:33 am

This just happened to me. I sent a bug report, no word back yet.

        • Comment by Rizzo made on June 17, 2012 at 1:57 pm

I must have been extremely lucky, I stood still in the Balloon, jumped out and hit the sandcrawler first time collected both datacrons, no trouble dropping down to the red dc. One journey two dc’s there must be a god after all!

  16. Comment by Fela made on January 11, 2012 at 2:22 pm

The alternative route to the cunning +3 datacron is absolutely trivial using a speeder.

    • Comment by Bellendaine made on January 12, 2012 at 8:11 pm

Would you like to enlighten us then? ‘Cause I can’t make that one jump to save my life.

  17. Comment by BlackDragon made on January 11, 2012 at 3:10 pm

When you’re riding the balloon to the two Datachrons in the Dune Sea, make SURE you move about regularly! If you stand still for too long, even if you’re chatting, the balloon is liable to despawn, letting you drop through the floor… which sucks on several levels.

  18. Comment by Latem made on January 13, 2012 at 8:52 pm

For the Aim 3 datacron don’t go through the empire bases you can get there by passing through the world PVP zone. You will get flagged for PVP combat but easier than trying to get past level 50 guards

  19. Comment by shnelle made on January 18, 2012 at 9:45 pm

The Alternate Route for Cunning for the Empire got plugged (quite literally) in the 1.1 patch. There is now a huge hunk of rock where you begin your jump.

  20. Comment by Bael made on January 19, 2012 at 1:50 pm

You amy want to look at the Alternate Route for the datacron in Mos Ila, that rock outcropping at the beginning has completely changed.

  21. Comment by justin made on January 20, 2012 at 4:01 pm

ok these tat crons are impossible to get due to forced non consentual PVP the ones ou get fromm the jawa ballon

    • Comment by Tyson made on January 24, 2012 at 4:16 pm

      • Comment by Gelious made on January 23, 2012 at 10:27 pm

Those who have trouble getting Red Datacrone from sandcrawler, i just did it after several attempts, many lost hours, and youtube videos. Here is what you should do.
        1) While on Balloon, move. The more the better.
Blasted thing can disappear when the sandcrawler already in sight. And it wil appear exactly where you first get into it, so zero chance of riding balloon again less then an hour.
        2) VITAL. Turn off your Sprint after you jumped to the sandcrawler.
        3) Stand right above the platform with red datacrone face to the wall.
        4) Press Jump. Wait until your character finishes goes up and starts goes down then press “Move backwards”
        5) Repeat untill you fall to platform. It will take more 10+ times but you wont be even near the edge of that platform when you will fall. Again. make sure Sprint is off!
        6) Enjoy your reward!
With best regards, Gelious, Sith Marauder from Rogue Moon.

        • Comment by Tyson made on January 24, 2012 at 4:18 pm

Since you are moving you shouldnt go AFK… I believe the balloon disappearing has to do with your mission log being full and not being able to take on any more missions, technically getting a datacron is considered one.

          • Comment by Gelious made on January 24, 2012 at 11:44 pm

Nope. It disappeared twice on me and my quest log wasnt full at all. But i didnt move because i was looking into guild chat.

  23. Comment by Josh made on January 24, 2012 at 7:23 pm

Dude really?? Worst guide ever. Let me jump onto that vent thingy not pictured and the other general words you used to describe key objects i need to trapeze on my way to this datacron. I need more pics, not some giant explanation.

I’m not sure what you have such a problem with, but this guide was provided out of a love of the game, not an obligation to you. Say thank you and move along if you don’t like the guide.

For Empire Cunning+3, you can take the brownish canvas (with opening in it) up to the tower using force boost to run and jump at an angle down to the walkway. You can see this canvas in the first picture. This would let you skip some of the jumping on vents/beams/pipes. Only have to do the last bit of jumping before getting on last buildings.

  25. Comment by PotatoGun made on January 29, 2012 at 1:11 am

A trooper / Bounty Hunter and use the harpoon in a duel to pull people on the sandcrawler to get the datacron and skip the 40 minute ballon ride. They can do the same on the leadge for the streght datacron as well. Compaions with the harpoon ability will not work because they can not use it on players or boss.

For Republic to get the aim datacron don’t run through the Imperial camp and die, there is a tunnel just north of that camp called the “Bantha Drifts Tunnel.” It opens on the south end of the sand people village in the Dune Sea.

On the balloon: there was a hypothesis on the official forum that the balloon makes a 1 3/4 circuit, meaning that it goes through one circuit fine, but on the second circuit, it will despawn, dumping everyone out. The trick is getting lucky enough to catch the “right” balloon on your way out… or perhaps rushing back to catch the next one after you get dropped.

The +3 strength datacron on Tatooine was bugged for me. After waiting 1/2 hour for ride and riding balloon for over 1/2 hour, ballon disappeared and dropped us all to ground. One person in group said that this happened to him 3 times. This will be last datacron I work on. Don’t want to waste my time to bad SWTOR programming and lack of customer service.

Just read the above posting about the false balloon ride. This is garbage. It should never have been done this way. Another example of the “great” gaming ideas from SWTOR to waste so much of our time.

      • Comment by Joe made on October 24, 2013 at 3:44 pm

I personally think it is a glitch that is completely random. I made the ride like 4 times in a row without a glitch. (kept missing the second datacron) On the fifth trip it glitched, but it was fine the next time (and I was able to finally get it). Good thing I had time to waste that day!

Concerning the Imperial base on Tatooine. There is a hidden tunnel from the Dune Sea to Jundland, located at approximately X -713, Y -864 (Dune Sea side) where you can travel unchallenged via shortcut to the area between the bases easily.

im not finding a tunnel. can you leave more information.

Concerning the balloon ride and the associated datacrons.
    1. Move around on the balloon quite frequently. Once I did that I never fell off again.
    2. If you duel with another character who has a knockback skill he can propel you up to the sandcrawler. To do so he has to position himself about 30 m uphill away from the edge of the crawler while you use your glider to speed towards that edge. Once you approach him jump while he uses the skill. If you do it correctly you’ll end up on the edge and can pick your reward. If you should possess the harpoon you may then draw him towards you. This also works on Alderaan and various other locations.

I was on my way to the northern jawa sandcrawler when I got “zoned” out of the balloon to the ground, taking 95% hp damage. Freakin annoying.

    • Comment by Evgen88 made on February 13, 2012 at 9:20 am

Has someone seen the baloon respawn right at the boarding point? If so it seems the thing to do is not board it if you see it coming in, but wait 30 minutes for it to respawn.
had the exact same despawn thing happen to myself and an Imp palyer last night, defiantely doesn’t have to do with moving around or a full quest log.

      • Comment by Evgen88 made on February 18, 2012 at 2:32 am

Just confirmed it does respawn right at the sand crawler where you board the balloon.
Doesn’t give you much time to get on, so I missed it 🙁
And FYI, if you log off on the balloon when you log back in you will be on the ground, unharmed though

        • Comment by JDS made on February 18, 2012 at 1:18 pm

What a stupid waste of time. I got to the waiting point but I guess the balloon was the furthest from me. I actually timed how long for the balloon to come back around. It took 38 mins…plus a 15 minute ride. When I dropped down on the second crawler.. I was able to pick up the blue shard (already had one)… Then suddenly as I got on the ledge and dropped onto the pad by the datacron… I somehow got clipped halfway onto the crawler and inside it… Wasn’t able to move at all. Typed /stuck and it gave me insta-death with no probe respawn. Really pissed. I’ll get this some other time….

          • Comment by Scott made on February 20, 2012 at 2:58 am

I just completed the balloon ride and did successfully get both datacrons. One thing i noticed is first run i got dumped, tried to race back but it was gone alrdy, going the other way. Caught the next run with 2 others and we moved the whole time and it didnt dump us. So i believe u must keep moving. Also, walk backwards off ledge and push forwards immediately and u will catch the ledge to the stre +3 datacron. The other 2 missed it, and it was sad.

  32. Comment by Krazed made on March 5, 2012 at 1:46 am

FYI, for the sandcrawler datacrons if you are grouped with a warrior, you can duel and have the warrior push you up. just takes positioning and timing the push on a jump. pretty easy, and no waiting involved.

  34. Comment by Zero made on April 11, 2012 at 2:23 am

On the sand crawler I found that turning off run and slowly backing up from the top gets you a better shot of landing on the platform with the STR+3 datacron

    Empire +3 Cunning

Having tried to get this one for longer than I care to admit…over an hour…opps that wasn’t my inside voice.

Anyway, my advice is as follows:

When jumping onto the original tarp don’t be mounted.

Once on the tarp, mount up & go for it until you jump on to the pipe just before the catwalk. In fact, you can fly right off the beam & land on the pipe…no jumping required there (I’m using a +90% mount).

    Run across the catwalk.

Once on the pipe, dismount & jump onto the catwalk.

Now, I disagree with the guide…I got up on to the railing to jump onto the next pipe (for over an hour) & only stuck the landing about twice, however I had much more success simply jumping over the railing & landing on the bend in the pipe; as in A LOT more success.

Once on the pipe I backed up to the catwalk railing & then ran diagonally across the bend in the pipe to jump onto the next beam.

Once on the beam, cross over to the building. Jump down onto the wall…& then from there you can basically see tarps covering the vendors at the market. Head in that direction…You will then jump down on to a building to the South of your position.

Your final jump will take you to a building with the actual datacron & you WILL be able to see the datacron before you make your last jump.

I have come to the conclusion that Strength +3 is not good for a type 3 body, I have tried different angles to backing off, to going forward and I am still meet with defeat, it blows you to far away from the ledge I tried running after taking the plunge and nothing, So I have moved on, maybe one of my legacy brothers will get it

  37. Comment by Sachi made on May 10, 2012 at 1:11 am

So, i went through to get the sandcrawler pain in the rump iritating, long time waiting rant-inducing datacrons – and i got the blue shard pretty easy no problem, but the red strength one … the DEVIL! So i do exactly what you say, go on the ledge, drop down to the little platform….

…Only, it didnt DROP down to the platform. It knocked me all the down to the sand. I didnt miss the platform by inches, I missed it by METERS. But i didnt JUMP, i didnt do anything that should have caused that. I just… dropped off right above the platform. I mean, i was perfectly aligned, the ONLY problem was it blew me way passed the platform onto the sand.

Any advice for my NEXT try? Cause that is a pain.

    Thanks, be well folks!

I did it this way : go on the ledge in front of the plateform, jump vertically without moving and only while you’re in air move sligthly frontward… pixel by pixel you’ll get it!

    • Comment by Scot made on June 21, 2013 at 8:53 pm

Someone else mentioned turning off Sprint. So I did that, faced the sandcrawler wall, then tapped backwards until I started to fall and mashed forward. Landed on the ledge fine.

  38. Comment by Erica made on May 16, 2012 at 6:41 am

The datacron in anchorhead has one particularly* tough jump*. It is *easier* if you run along the rim of the wall parallel to the obvious jump trajectory for a *running leap*. (The wall perpendicular and adjacent to the rim you would jump over. )

for the strength +3 if u fall off the crawler you can have a someone who can use force push shoot you up there from about 20 meters away if u jump when they push you. (invite them to a duel so they can force push you.)

One can get each vehicle repaired not to mention serviced with often the money and are able to pay again
in month-to-month installments. payday loans are not charge
based; therefore, consumer credit score check is absolutely not required and
almost never performed when cash advance collectors.

There’s a shortcut for the Empire +3 Cunning if you’re really ballsy… On the roof, right after you come off the tent (the first tent, right after the start), there’s that black and brown tent. You can cross that and jump to a tube on the corner of the bridge, then jump up and on. It”s a bit harder, a bit riskier, but it cuts the path in half.

The best part of riding the balloon all the way and getting ready to jump is to have someone push you out of the way ad you land in the sand. Sweet.

  49. Comment by Scot made on June 21, 2013 at 8:50 pm

Dunno if anyone else mentioned it already, but on the Dune Sea jawa balloon datacrons, you have to jump from the balloon to the datacron section of the sandcrawler. If you jump down to where the jawa is chatting on the holo-comm, you can’t climb up to the other level.

    • Comment by Sean made on June 25, 2013 at 11:25 am

Agreed, you cannot get up to the other level, but you can still activate the cube to receive the Blue Matrix Shard. So, no loss.

  50. Comment by Joe made on October 24, 2013 at 3:23 pm

I skipped the beam jumping by using an alternative route. whichever is easier is up to you, but once getting off the first canopy, there is a second canopy (brown) to your right. I jumped onto that and down onto the pipe that supports the bridge from that side. Its a bit shorter of a route, but you still need to jump from the supporting pipe to the bridge. I was even able to accomplish the entire route on my speeder (lvl 2).

I just realized, after posting, that this went to the general forum, not to something specific to each dataron. This was a hint for the Empire Cunning. I also realized someone else beat me to it. They posted the same results earlier in this thread.
