Swtor Speeder Guide

At level 25, you can get your first Speeder (vehicle or mount), at either Tatooine, the Republic Fleet, or the Imperial Fleet. The Speeder Vendor Barik at Republic Fleet – Carrick station is located in Galactic Trade Market (coordinates: -4564, -4841). Tatooine has a better selection of beginning Speeders. As you leave the Anchorhead spaceport, you will see the taxi and the Speeder vendor to your right (coordinates: 1865,-3285). Examples of the Speeders are found on the lot, but be warned; the Speeders you get may not look the same. All Speeders at Anchorhead cost 8,000 credits and add 90% to your speed. The pictures here are of the Speeders after purchase. Also remember that all details and pictures in this article are from the beta and are subject to change.
Befor you can ride any speeder you have to learn Speeder Piloting skill from your class trainer.

There are 3 Speeder Piloting ranks:

  • Rank 1 – costs 35,000 credits
  • Rank 2 – costs 150,000 credits
  • Rank 3 – costs 220,000 credits


Speeder’s characteristics

  • Speeders level 40 and 50 will give you good/excellent protection against being knocked off
  • None of the speeders gives you any other attribute than speed and protection against being knocked off.
  • Speeders will not protect you; if you take more than a couple hits of damage, the speeder will disappear, and you will be on foot, and in combat.
  • You cannot ride the speeder inside spaceports or other buildings.

At level 40, you can get a nicer vehicle. The vendors for these can be found on the Republic Fleet or the Empire Fleet. On the Republic Fleet, the vendor Barik (click for location) is located in the middle section of the outer edge of the North East quadrant. Here you can find two of the vehicles available on Tatooine – the Czerka Patroller and the Rendili Watchman – plus four more advanced models. The Lhosan Duster, the Lhosan Stinger and the Gurian Hammer all cost 25,000 credits and require level forty and Speeder Piloting, rank 2. Each will increase your speed by 100%.

The dark side vendor on the Republic Fleet / Emperial Fleet will sell you a Praxon Xeno. This vehicle requires level 50, Dark V or above, and Speeder Piloting Rank 3. It increases your speed by 110% and costs 300,000 credits. The light side has a similar vehicle called the Praxon Aero.

    How does the personal transport which comes with the digital or CE relate to the speeders in terms of speed?

      They have the same speed as the other level-25 transports. The only difference, besides cosmetic, is that you don’t have to pay in-game credits to get it.

        As of patch 1.5 this has been changed so that the speed of the one from the CE goes as fast as your highest level of speeder training allows.

    I can confirm that the PVP vendor in the open pvp area of Tatooine has special merc commendation requiring mounts you can pickup from the vendors in there.

    Also Quesh’s vendor has a brone looking “Artech Dagger” (like the others, but looks “used”).

    Oh and the blue rendel watcher is purchased from the vendor in tatooine.

    I just bought the UBRIKKIAN HUNTER from Tattoine for 8000creds at lvl 25 it looks alot better then the other speeders 🙂

    This web-page is giving out false information, you cannot buy the Lhosan Stinger at lvl 40, and it doesn’t cost 25k like it says. It is available at Voss for lvl 50 at 55k.

    The Desler Avenger and the Tirsa Elite drop locations are switched. Desler Avenger is from HM Soa, where the Tirsa Elite is from Normal Mode.

    You should add in the Korrealis Baron & Korrealis Commander speeders that could be bought before 1.2.

    I have seen players as low as lvl 15 on speeders, I thought it was lvl 25 before you got one, how do they get them that soon.

      it depends on legacy i think its when you pass chapter 3 all other characters can get a speeder lvl 10 but the cost of piloting goes through the roof considering your level

      Since the F2P changes a subscriber can get a speeder at level 15. No legacy needed. Non subscribers get it later. You get the Speeder Piloting skill from your class trainer for a moderate price (comparrible to other skills). You then just buy the speeder from a vendor for 8k credits or on the GTN for slightly more).

    This information about the speeder unlock is even more out of date than it was in 2013 with an earlier comment about this. Speeders now in 2024 unlock at level 10 for subscribers and level 20 for f2p. 25 is when subscribers get their first free speed increase, if anything at all.
