With the Game Update 1.2 unlocking your Legacy grants you access to an expanded Legacy Panel where your characters share information with each other. The Legacy System is design as a set of levels with unlocking bonuses where your characters on the same server (both Empire and Republic characters) earn global unlocks, which are abilities, emotes, and other rewards.
