Additional information:

This datacron is on the second level of The Star of Coruscant in the Starship Graveyard. You begin your trek among level 40 elites and get to the first level of the Star of Coruscant. You run along its edges for a while until you are able to climb to the second level and you have to back track along the second level to get to the datacron.

Additional note: When you reach the last jumping point (screenshots #16), there is a gap between snow “rocks” (screenshots #17). If you fall into this gap while you are jumping from the small rock to the bigger one you will stuck, and the game will return you to the starting point and you will have to do everything all over again. The trick is to jump to the side of the rock which looks towards the abyss. In this part the gap is slightly wider and if you fail you will be able to return to the rock from which you jumped and try again.

You should start jumping onto the ice around 2613, -841

The general direction you want to be moving towards is east.

To go east you will need to find this little path

You will basically move towards the archway that is over the entrance to this area. Once you reach this ledge jump down onto the archway.

There is another jump into the abyss soon after.

Move along the ice edge with your goal being that ledge of the starship – you have reach the Star of Coruscant

Just follow this ledge all the way. At one point you will hear the datacron above you. You need to go further and backtrack along the upper level.

There are several times you will have to go back onto the ice edge and back to the starthip ledge. Here’s the first.

At one point you will reach this snow edge that you can actually climb to the level above.

Watch out for this break in the snow here. Nice little jump.

Once on the 2nd level move back north and the only obstacle left between you and the datacron are these snow “steps”

Additional information:

To get this datacron you need to kill a level 47 Elite Champion mob named “Ancient Probe”. It drops a Depleted Datacron. You need to charge it at the north entrance to The Star of Coruscant and you will get a functioning datacron.

It takes the Ancient Probe about six and a half minutes to complete one round, so your best bet is to wait for it somewhere on its route and face the direction it’s coming from. If you wait much longer than that, chances are someone defeated it and it hasn’t respawned yet.
If you’re impatient, you could try to approach it by taking the route in the opposite direction (counterclockwise), but it’s quite easy to miss.
And one more very important thing that’s missing here: If you’re in a group only one person needs the Depleted Datacron. When you use it at the Star of Coruscant everybody in your group can get the actual Datacron.

We would like to thank Coryn for making the map route and sending us additional information.

There is another datacron on Hoth.
+Cunning, located in Star of Coruscant (very big ship, where every storyline for Republic eventually lead).
On second floor, where you can go with a slow lift, some rides on slow cranes (forget Tatoine baloon? You’ve plenty time to remember).
Start jumping on crates near Controller (gold mob, ending side quest with kill 3 techinicians), after that road will be dull, but fairy simple. Just don’t hurry and be careful.

    • Comment by Willik made on January 6, 2012 at 6:01 am

      For Cunning +4 datacron:
Actualy you can skip the first lift, by jumpin right to the second lift entry crates:

the first container is not needed:

can simply jump straight up onto the 2nd container stack with the right distance jump. avoids crate climbing. (discovered this after messing up the jump to moving container #2)

This no longer works.. I’ve tried for over 30 mins to get this right. non of the containers in the full path to get to the datacron allow this anymore.

You can only skip the first container & jump directly to the 2nd if you have a smaller body type. Larger body types can’t fit.

Can anyone told me how to find the Ancient Drone? I spent in that area an hour yesterday, and another hour today… Didn’t see it, nor players that could kill it. Even if someone did killed it, it should respawn, right? Please help.

I’ve had some trouble to locate the Ancient Probe as well, so when I finally did, I decided to follow it around and map out its route:
    http://i.imgur.com/5lpr6.jpg

Feel free to include the image.
It should be quite accurate as i took lots of screenshots along the way. I’m quite sure the probe always takes the same route.

It takes the probe about six and a half minutes to complete one round, so your best bet is to wait for it somewhere on its route and face the direction it’s coming from. If you wait much longer than that, chances are someone defeated it and it hasn’t respawned yet.
If you’re impatient, you could try to approach it by taking the route in the opposite direction (counterclockwise), but it’s quite easy to miss.
A couple of coordinates along the route:
    (-3976, -205)
    (-3831, 33)
    (-3916, 836)
    (-4012, 254)
    (-4164, -32)

And one more very important thing that’s missing here: If you’re in a group only one person needs the Depleted Datacron. When you use it at the Star of Coruscant everybody in your group can get the actual Datacron.

I hope this helps some people.

Just waited 30 minutes for the Ancient Probe droid to respawn for the Strength +4 datacron. Had 2 other people in the group. It has 98k health. We killed it on the first go but it only drops one datacron which you then have to roll on. Well annoying as I didn’t win the roll so I just wasted all that time.

    • Comment by Coryn made on January 17, 2012 at 9:45 am

You should have stayed in the group… as I mentioned above, only one group member needs the Depleted Datacron. I did it with a group of three people and we all got it.

      • Comment by Nortic made on January 18, 2012 at 9:17 pm

Yes, it appears in my anger I killed her, wait, I mean, I rage-quit the group and stormed off. Tried it again today. The droid has 91k health. Three of us killed it with no companion but one of us was a healer. As you said, the datacron was available to us all once we used the depleted one. Now I’m very happy and +4 stronger (^_^)

      • Comment by Rouge77 made on April 6, 2012 at 8:31 pm

I did this in a group of two, the other person got the depleted datacron and got the datacron, I didn’t get it. We stayed in a group the whole time, yet I was “Ineligible for this conversation” when I tried to use the datacron.

        • Comment by armenfrast made on April 8, 2012 at 10:35 am

We did it yesterday – only one of us got the depleted datacron, but both of us where able to get the +4 bonus after recharging the datacron.

  8. Comment by ladykathleen made on January 21, 2012 at 2:32 am

On the cunning 4 there is a set of boxes across the room that you can jump up on the 2 corners of the large boxes it takes a double jump to jump up them, but it can be done. and you don’t have to worry about the guy on the other side.

  9. Comment by Malyce made on January 21, 2012 at 10:14 am

Confirmed on the Cunning one u can jump up onto the last box one the corner of the lower box cutting out 90% of the trip
There are little corner circles u can jump up on top of them then onto the box where u would have dropped off the 2nd moving crate

  10. Comment by Malyce made on January 21, 2012 at 10:50 am

On the Presence one pictures 6 and 7 are very misleading honestly I never found this “ledge” he showed in his picts only after I looked exactly where the cron was did I understand what to do, Go up to the north of the big radar dish jump up and follow the steps/path around west till u cant, jump off and run nnw to a cave entrance. follow then cron

  11. Comment by cbrown2300 made on January 22, 2012 at 4:18 am

I have tried for 2 hours and eight attempts to get to the endurance +4 datacron.. I think the jump down point near the data cron is very confusing and not defined. I need to know the exact x.y to jump, x,y tomove etc..

    • Comment by Daf made on January 26, 2012 at 1:19 pm

We found the Endurance one by actually ridge-riding up to the very top of the Star, then dropping down the side of the ship, twice, to get to the ledge where the datacron is hiding.
The first drop down we were a ways north of the ‘cron where there’s a long sloping ice ramp to jump down.
The second drop was an actual drop onto a small clump of ice, just north of the ‘cron, which gave us a little leeway for not falling all the way down.

      • Comment by Xabata made on May 22, 2012 at 8:50 am

Where did you get up to the top of the ridge? Any path I try leads me into the exhaustion zone.

    • Comment by Jeff made on February 4, 2012 at 10:23 pm

The Endurance walkthru is a bit skimpy – but here’s the key part missing:

It doesn’t define how many times you transition from ship to snow or exactly where to go up to the 2nd level.

I think it’s 3 transitions. There’s a spot where, instead of leaping back onto the ship, you continue UP.

      That spot is X 2830 Y -229

    • Comment by angelsix made on March 7, 2012 at 11:20 pm

For me the tricky part was the first time actually jumping to the ship. I had to jump up onto a ledge that looks like a dead end, then climb up from there. Jumping down onto the deck (which, at the time, seemed like the obviously correct path), then following it around, I went from deck to ice to deck to ice, and never found a way in. That “follow the ship ridge and jump down” idea sounds, in retrospect, a lot better.

  12. Comment by Revolting made on January 25, 2012 at 11:01 pm

It’s worth noting that for the +4 Cunning one, the second and last crates do not move in a synchronised pattern, and it can take a few passes for them to align correctly. (It took me four swings to get them correctly positioned.)

Additionally, the platform with the datacron on can be accessed by leap abilities; An enterprising sith warrior spotted me up there and challenged me to a duel. I knew what he was thinking, and sure enough it worked; one force leap later and he was up there with me.

  13. Comment by Rome made on January 28, 2012 at 8:46 pm

The Hoth Endurance walk through is flat terrible.

    • Comment by Tamar made on October 19, 2013 at 2:08 pm

Really? I followed it and got the datacron on my first attempt. The walkthrough took me right to it.

  14. Comment by lastrights made on February 2, 2012 at 6:29 pm

The str +4 datacron on hoth that requires the Ancient Probe droid, I wanted to provide additional information. If you are waiting for your party to arrive to kill it if one person targets the probe and stays in one position the probe will move to the edge of your viewing distance and stop. So essentially once you find it, target the droid, stop and you can hold it in one position until your party arrives.

  15. Comment by Jason made on February 6, 2012 at 3:23 am

The red matrix shard is another one that will tell you that you need to complete missions first, just like the endurance one on Alderran in the killik cave. I wasted 18k on the melter and discovered this the hard way.

    • Comment by Jason made on February 6, 2012 at 3:27 am

      Correction, the 18k wasn’t wasted, it’s not a single-use item, thankfully.

      • Comment by Jodmos made on February 7, 2012 at 11:11 pm

That happened with me on the endurance one. I had 25 quests in log, so deleted one and it worked fine.

    • Comment by Fry made on February 26, 2012 at 10:15 pm

Any datacron will give you that message if your quest log is filled. Abandon any quest, then tag the ‘cron again.

  17. Comment by Colin made on March 3, 2012 at 12:54 pm

The recharge station for the Strength cron doesn’t need any jumping now, there is a ramp and platform to walk right up to it.

    • Comment by Kjara made on May 2, 2012 at 5:26 pm

Yes — someone please update the guide to reflect this. We killed a while trying to walk up that stupid pipe (and getting badly /stuck in the ledge that runs underneath it), but once we got up and over to the recharge station, we saw that we could have walked right to it. -_-

  18. Comment by Ithaki made on March 7, 2012 at 11:38 pm

The Ancient Probe stays in one spot unless someone gets close to it. You need to search it’s path for it. Once you get close enough to it, it starts moving.

  19. Comment by Lyllyan made on March 12, 2012 at 6:57 am

for the cunning datacron you only need to jump on the strut of the last container to get up rather than starting from the forklift.

You don’t need to go through the tunnel to get to the presence datacron. You can climb the hills south of the tunnel and come to the path behind the dish across the top. No need to fight anyone along the way.

  23. Comment by Shuartzu made on April 28, 2012 at 6:26 pm

Reference the GH-67 Datacron, I’ve found that after fighting (and failing) against Ancient Probe, he likes to stay within a certain distance. stopping until I get closer.

He also seems to temporarily like changing direction along his huge route.

  24. Comment by Ario made on May 3, 2012 at 3:23 pm

for the +4 strength it is no longer up the pipe. They updated it and the recharge station is now on a platform. Instead of going up the pipe just take the stairs. πŸ™‚

  25. Comment by ScicleX made on May 9, 2012 at 10:34 am

They must have changed the Strength +4 Datacron Recharge Station. You don’t need to do any platforming to get to the station, simply walk up the ramp on the southern wall and the station is in plain sight.

    Datacron #64, Endurance +4

About this part : “Additional note: When you reach the last jumping point (screenshots #16), there is a gap between snow β€œrocks” ”

There’s a way to jump 90Β° clockwise (at the right of the normal jump you can see in the guide pics)

So, .. turn 90Β° right, and jump on the ledge. It got me 3-4 tries because it’s a looong jump, but if you fall you don’t fail everything πŸ˜€

One you jumped on the ledge, you can go behind the pillard, and wohoo the datacron is in sight ^^

it seems the ancient probe no longer patrols the area.

I was waiting a long time on the exact same spot as provided above in the map.

Instead, for me I find the probe more to the south east on the drawn red lines.
And he was moving but just 5 meters in both direction.

So don’t wait at one spot cause for me he was just going forward and backswards for 5 meter.

On the Cunning datacron, you can only skip the first container if you don’t have a large body type. Otherwise, you can’t fit in the gap to make the jump directly to the second container.

With the Strength datacron, once it has been “opened”, anyone can get it while it’s still there (lasts for about 5 mins). They don’t have to be in the party, or even in the same faction (Rep vs. Imp). I positioned 2 of my alts at the Recharge Station, got the Depleted Datacron with a 3rd alt, had him recharge it, then quickly switched characters and was able to get the datacron on both the alts.

The Ancient Probe does seem “stuck” these days, hangs around the SE corner of the route shown above, not far from the Empire Drift Hills base. I was able to solo him with a 50 Mercenary using Mako & pulling out all the stops (Heroic Moment, stims, etc.)

The Ancient Probe has a few more twists than I see covered here.

First, Corwyn’s post (which really should be added to the site here) appears to be accurate in terms of the AP’s route. What does not appear to be accurate (at least not anymore) is the timing, which is highly dependent on how is following the probe. If someone is following the probe, it knows and will move away further down its route to get away. But if they stop, the probe will generally stop. This holds true until the area just WNW of the Drift Hills Imperial Outpost. More specifically, right near -3666, 676.
At this point – for me at least, the probe decided to stay and defend its territory. It picked a spot. If I moved in on it, it would move along its path (forward or back) a ways, but if I kept pursuing, it would turn around and come toward me. I watched it just sit there – not making its rounds – for over an hour. I even left the area and came back 5-10 minutes later – still there and still sensitive to my presence.

If you do the Red Matrix Shard datacron right after you buy the Hydro-Thinner, you can sell it back to a vender before the return time runs out for full price.

For +Cunning you can jump directly onto the 3rd moving crate (the one near the datacron), by jumping clear over the railing and onto the crate’s first “peg” (the cylindrical notch a little ways up the crate). A second jump gets you onto the crate proper. Jumping with rocket boots on may make this easier.

In respect to the strength datacron, I was unable to get a group together to help me kill it at lvl 43 but I got on my lvl 55 and killed it then mailed the depleted datacron to my lvl 43.

Pro Tip, when getting the red matrix shard from hoth you have plenty of time to get your money back on the ice melt gadget, saved me 22500 creds as f2p player

You should really list the +4 STR first so we don’t go right by the North entrance while we’re getting two other datacrons only to find out we need to go back

Depleted datacron is transformed into Strength (red) datacron by activating the Coupled Recharge Station, located on upper messanine on right side of north entrance to Star of Coruscant.
