Go to the Assembly Line level

This is the Assembly Line area. If you have stealth you can sneak by some of the mobs, otherwise I recommend bringing a friend. The datacron is located in this room bellow the first assembly line on the right.

You drop down on bellow the assembly lines and you will find this hidden entrance in one of the supporting columns.

Exact location of the hidden entrance shown on map.

Once inside you will see the datacron glowing down below.

Be careful when dropping down because you can easily miss and end up among many unfriendly droids.

You need a key to open the chest containing the datacron.

To get the key you need to visit a vendor in the south east part of the map. (he is located across some water – watch out – you might drown – NOT)

No one made you open a shop so remotely dude.

You need to purchase the Lost Code Cylinder for 5000 credits

There is a chest right next to the vendor that is opened with a 8000 credits key. I did not spend that money.

I bought the 8k key (during release), the Tatooimport crate next to the vendor gave me a Reconfigured Disassembler Core (purple)

    • Comment by Neptuno made on January 6, 2012 at 2:17 pm

how do you get into tatooine import case?

      • Comment by Neptuno made on January 6, 2012 at 2:19 pm

nm. i thought you meant the lost cylinder, but its 2 different ones to buy: 5k for the datacron and 8k for the disassembler

        • Comment by melendora made on January 12, 2012 at 12:53 am

I bought the 8,000 one and I got ONE MEDPAC. Thats it. Thats all that was in the box.

          • Comment by apocalypse013 made on May 18, 2012 at 9:06 pm

Import chest contain a random item, its all down to luck if you get what you’re after.

    • Comment by mstieler made on April 14, 2012 at 11:12 pm

I’d like to verify I got the same. 8k for a Reconfigured Dissasembler Core and a gray junk item.

Sorry for the people who didn’t get the Core….

Your first X Y locs are off. Standing on top of the datacom, thee X is 726, the Y is 171

  3. Comment by Jezath made on December 24, 2011 at 10:15 am

be careful if buying the 8k key as when your inentory is full it will fail to give you the items pon opening of the chest.

    • Comment by starwarsftw made on December 24, 2011 at 3:23 pm

how do i get up to the farnel place?
Do i have to do a quest to get to that part of the zone?

    • Comment by Luksky made on December 26, 2011 at 5:06 pm

I buy key, open the chest, but when i want collect datacron I have message: you must complete mision first…and cant collect 🙁

      • Comment by virixx made on December 28, 2011 at 11:21 pm

That message means you have too many active quests. You need to either abandon or complete a couple of quests to get below the max. Apparently they either toyed with adding a maximum number when they added this datacron or there is a max that is bugged right now.

  4. Comment by flex made on December 27, 2011 at 1:28 am

hi there is another datacron with +3 Stamina..
In the cave for the Bonusmission of the first quest. in this cave u have to kill the queen, but if u go further u can see the datacron. the entry is in the big room on the left. But if u leave the cave ,u cant reenter it.So be sure u get the datarcron before u leave:)

    • Comment by flex made on December 27, 2011 at 1:33 am

haha forget my post pls. its late and i just realized that im stupid 🙂

      • Comment by Ruk made on December 31, 2011 at 6:50 pm

The +stam datacron is in what is called “Maintenance Tunnels” in the same area of the Colocoid Queen nest. The entrance to the tunnel is somewhat hidden. It is to you left as you are facing the queen. Coords are: X -358, Y -230.

I was able to re-enter the cave/nest after turning in the quest.

        • Comment by Seth made on January 1, 2012 at 6:27 am

pretty sure your talking about the Republic +3 endurance seeing as your instructions are identical to those on the republic datacron page for balmorra.

    • Comment by apocalypse013 made on May 18, 2012 at 9:13 pm

There is an Endurance datacron for the Empire side on balmorra. you can see it when you’re doing the revanite quests. i will get back to you with the co-ords for it

  5. Comment by Lexis made on December 27, 2011 at 4:32 pm

Is this green matrix really empire only? Im not convinced.

    • Comment by Revolting made on December 31, 2011 at 2:30 am

Republic have an equivalent Green on Taris.

  6. Comment by Tuko made on December 28, 2011 at 9:07 am

I’m trying to find a second green datacron for the Republic side. Only Taris is listed. For the Smugglers level 32 Matrix cube you need 2.

  7. Comment by Revolting made on December 31, 2011 at 2:35 am

Worth noting that the cost of the key can be split if you’re questing in a group; once someone has opened the chest, anyone can use the matrix shard.

  8. Comment by Kevin Kinder made on December 31, 2011 at 8:52 pm

FYI, to get to Bugtown do the Balmorra bonus missions. I don’t think you can get there otherwise.

    • Comment by Dave made on January 11, 2012 at 6:36 pm

Not sure you HAVE to do the bonus series to get there, I got through to starting the missions and then walked to the taxi npc. Route was open after unlocking npc.

      loc of taxi: -1562 1286

  9. Comment by Akili RedVenom (snubfighters) made on January 3, 2012 at 12:17 am

    +3 endurance – Republic

    -444,-44 – datacron
    -358,-42 – secret entrance
    -196,7 – bugtown

    Balmorra

Goto bugton co-ord, down elevaor, find secret tunnel, goes to datacron!

  10. Comment by ticket made on January 3, 2012 at 8:40 pm

You need to get to the Second level of Balmorran Arms Factory by elevator, can anyone be more specific where the elevator is?

i have cleared this entire place several times and cannot find it.

    • Comment by Scott made on February 19, 2012 at 5:23 am

its more like outside of second level, when u do the quest it makes u go outside from the 2nd level and disable the drop ships. That is were the datacron is located under the bridge to your right

      • Comment by Jo made on March 27, 2012 at 3:56 am

What quest would this be ? I dont think they would have made datacron only available when you had a specific quest. Please be more specific about the location of the elevator and if it can be added to your codex when you dont have the quest.

What is the alernative route and location. Like the guy said I too have cleaned this place out and been all around it, but there is no lift available. All quest ports are red so no entry!

  11. Comment by Rai'ynn Drachenfals made on January 12, 2012 at 3:01 am

Not sure if this is in here, I couldn’t find it but I came across a +3 Endurance Colicoid Queens nest. When you come into the next it is to the left behind a false wall. -446,-44 It is call a maintenace tunnel. You can see if when you come into the next at the far back.

    • Comment by Rai'ynn Drachenfals made on January 12, 2012 at 3:05 am

Oops I guess I should have read before I hit post. The wall is not at -446,-44 the datacron is. The wall is at -359,-43 sorry about that.

  12. Comment by Acilino made on January 18, 2012 at 5:38 am

You can’t get to this one if your republic. there is no door 🙁

    • Comment by derrick made on January 20, 2012 at 11:55 pm

btw i got to bugtown by myself on 21 lvl no speeder needed, no taxi even needed. just went from down there is a jumping path in a rocks in right up corner of location near bugtown, very ez to jump with speeder, and took some time to jump by myself. suggest to make it by speeder though, jumping on foot takes 2 long, and just did it to prove myself that it s possible)

  13. Comment by Russell Swiler made on January 23, 2012 at 5:22 pm

I don’t believe the green matrix shard datacron is right. I found a different one in that area, to get their you walk south from morain outpost to the broken bridge, then look for the pipe that crosses to another mountain, follow it, then it leads you to a spot where you jump down to get the datacron.

  14. Comment by Kydra made on January 25, 2012 at 8:55 pm

I bought the Import Code Cylinder for 8k, got a rare, purple gear drop:) its random, so gl if you buy the key!

  15. Comment by Lunchab made on February 7, 2012 at 1:41 pm

The 8k key opens a chest and gives you a Reconfigured Disassembler Core. Used to disassemble the Matrix Cubes you can make from obtaining Shards from Datacrons.

    • Comment by Scott made on February 19, 2012 at 5:20 am

Thanks for the info on the purple disassembler core! I did end up retrieving this item, but have yet to see or get any shards to make relics. Do they show up in your inventory? Also, is it like crafting with your crew member? Also, great guide, and i eventually did find bug town, tho i should of just checked replies before doing a mad search of balmorra 😛

      • Comment by DatacronHunter made on June 28, 2012 at 5:57 pm

There are matrix shards all over; a green one in this guide in fact. You assemble them in the Assembly Chamber near the Dark Temple on Dromund Kaas. It takes 3 shards to make a matrix cube. Do a search for “Matrix Cube Guide” on this site’s search feature and you’ll find out how. With publish 1.3, level 50 Cubes have gotten a boost to their stats AND they can have an augmentation kit put on them. Augmented Matrix Cubes are very nice items.

  16. Comment by agent'one made on February 19, 2012 at 10:32 am

LOL i got through to the secret entrance all alone only dieng once.

  17. Comment by Kroenen made on February 26, 2012 at 7:26 am

I personally did the Bug Town Datacron, on the Empire side as a Bounty Hunter and received the +4 aim that is referenced on the republic side bonus

  18. Comment by sarna made on February 27, 2012 at 8:55 am

there is another (?) datacron, willpower +4 at -771,2051,139. You can see it down below at these coordinates. I was republic. To get it you have to walk over a pipe across the river into the heroic +4 area. The pipe is above the river.

    • Comment by DatacronHunter made on June 28, 2012 at 6:00 pm

Nope, Republic only, check the Balmorra (Republic) page. There is no similar datacron on the Empire’s Balmorra.

  19. Comment by Geronimo made on May 4, 2012 at 8:05 pm

You need to update your information about the Datacron for the GREEN MATIX SHARD. They must have chaged it because there is a blocked access at -472,1925 or should I say no access there. I need three Green Matix shards to assemble the cube and this is the last one I need. Please update asap!!!

  20. Comment by KamWi made on May 10, 2012 at 11:59 pm

Well it looks like you miss one endurance +4 in the colicoid queens chamber behind the colicoid sapper you have to jump on on if the feeding tube then to the platform

    • Comment by DatacronHunter made on June 28, 2012 at 5:59 pm

No, that’s on the Balmorra (Republic) page … there is no analogous datacron for the Empire.

  21. Comment by Steve made on July 16, 2012 at 10:42 pm

Those Rakata energy cubes aren’t just found in the tomb area. I found one in minimum security section at 354,284

  22. Comment by Paxy made on December 12, 2012 at 1:06 am

So am ii the only one that got willpower datacron for free? I was doing a a mission with poisonous body parts and stumbled upon a two other players that opened a box on the bridge. They left and i helped my self before it closed again 🙂

  23. Comment by Elf made on December 23, 2012 at 7:18 pm

There is another one in the Bug Town, the coordinates: -446;-43 (Endurance +3) i found it as a republic player in the Colicoid Queen’s Nest

  24. Comment by Erek made on December 24, 2012 at 6:51 pm

At the vendor, was only the key (5k “Lost Code Cylinder”), which opened the chest on the broken bridge, that gave me AIM pts.

The room behind the queen was easy to find, but couldn’t manage jumping from tubes to platform. The other entrance is very hard to see, but is at -359,x, to the left of the queen. Go to ‘359, turn left & go to wall. Then a few fights to get to the datacron, which gave me ENDURANCE +3.

  25. Comment by Zach made on August 28, 2013 at 5:47 pm

I got the bug town willpower datacron on the empire side without a speeder. What I did was go up as high as it let me on a hill that starts near x: 223, y: -387 z: -14. When I hit an invisible wall near the top, I jumped on to a rock to the left and followed a super tiny path up to the top of the hill, where i jumped onto even ground near the chest. My class is agent, and I used stealth to avoid the enemies.

  26. Comment by Dennis made on November 27, 2014 at 7:03 pm

Is there anyway to do this by yourself. There are no “friendly” people on SWTOR today apparently…

    • Comment by Janvs made on January 4, 2016 at 8:49 am

Yes – if you have an assassin/shadow with phase walk you can do it. it took me a few dozen tries, but if you set your memory point right next to the 2nd switch you can get it. Zoom your camera angle in too before you set the memory point so the panel is bigger (harder to miss when going from quickbar to click on the panel.
