Companion Appearance Customization guide with screenshots of different customizations (Work in Progress).

At first glance, Mako’s relationship with Braden seems more like that of a father and daughter than members of a team of professional bounty hunters–and that assessment wouldn’t be too far off the mark.

Orphaned and homeless but with an uncanny instinct for computing, Mako had been living as a freelance slicer in the shadows of Nar Shaddaa’s underbelly… until the day Braden pulled the girl bleeding out of an alley, and paid a street surgeon to patch her blaster burns.

Recognizing talent and trouble when he saw it, Braden took Mako under his wing and has been looking after her as his own ever since. But while Mako loves the old man more than anything, her independent nature is beginning to chafe under Braden’s protectiveness.

I been giving Mako Holoviewer which is a tech gift and recieved 96 affection up until I got her affection a bit above 2k, and now I’m only getting 48 per Holoviewer. I also gave her a luxary gift which would reward me 24 is now rewarding me 12 affection. So looks like as you raise affection with your companion, the less affection you get from gifts.

I’ve got her affection up over 7000. On a 26:13 mission, it only takes about 2:30 of said mission.

Time to buy Level 2 gifts instead level 1

yeah, the amount they like something decreases as they like you more. So as you go up give ’em better stuff and it’s not as noticeable but it def decreases.

    Gifts; Likes Tech & underworld

Just tried every single available gift up to lev 2 with Mako, and her favourite by far is tech….not underworld as stated here.

Does this change later or does she always like the same things?

Love is a higher ranking than Favorite.

No it isn’t. Favorite is the highest it gets.

How can she be indifferent towards courtings gifts and also love them?

    • Comment by Ly made on February 10, 2012 at 5:54 am

Because, if you’re a female character it doesn’t have any affect but if you’re playing a male character than it will raise the affect.

    • Comment by Jester made on February 11, 2012 at 12:23 am

At first she won’t like it, even if you’re male. But you can hook up with her, and after that she likes courting gifts.

You must get her up to a certain level of affection before she begins to like the courting gifts.

I did the first mission for mako the lvl 30 mission on nar shadaa and now she wont speak to me where up untill that time she seemed to have more to say she is over 8500 effection is my game glitched or do i have to get her to 9 or 10k before she will have something else for me?

    • Comment by Argento made on March 14, 2012 at 5:45 pm

You have to finish chapter 1 (alderan) once you do that she’ll have a long chain of “mission dialogues” in your ship. then you’ll be on the second step of her own story. It’s not glitched, they just didn’t have it available until you’ve completed enough of your class story.

I have a question what should I give her as far as gear? Would the Columni BH Healing set be good for her? or another set.. I have all these Columni commendations and nothing to do with them.

    • Comment by Wiccapyre made on February 10, 2013 at 6:32 pm

You should use operative gear. Cunning is her main stat. Healing set for the op would be fine.

Hey gyes I have a question. I started mako and got her to the first Quest dialogue through gifts and converstions by level 12. the mission was for levels 30 or higher. I untracked it and didn’t think about it till I was around level 28. The quest is now gone from my logbook and i can’t start another conversation. Am I screwed and have to wait for the quests after the first act, or can I get this quest back somehow?
