I believe that means it is smuggler/trooper only.
I’m a smuggler, and i never had this quest…
Is there another way to obtain it for smugglers ?
There are seven bugged entries on Ord Mantel that, as of this typing, cannot be obtained by Jedi classes. So far OM is the worst of any planet in this regard.
You MUST pick LIGHT SIDE Option to get this Codex, if you choose Dark Side Option you WILL NOT be able to get the Codex. This is very unfortunate because you shouldn’t be forced to choose Light over Dark to receive a Codex.
Actually you CAN get this Codex entry by picking DARK SIDE Option. I just did with my Smuggler. After I picked Dark Side Option, I chose to BET not tu RUN MYSELF. Maybe that is necessary. I don’t know if this is important, but I chose to bet on firts runner – slim crazy one.
Quest not obtainable for Consular. Possible to obtained if partied with viable class
Sorry Hydran. I just ran through all the quests with a friend that rolled a Trooper, and the Codex entries are not obtainable even if you’re partied with a viable class. I was still unable to enter the conversations needed to obtain the entries.
So don’t waste your time trying for them. Hopefully they will be obtainable some how in the future.

You can get this from the Dark Side choice as well. As soon as I talked to Ensign Peters and completed the quest (but before I clicked on the device to activate my runner) I received the Codex entry.
click on the quest above ‘republic roulette’, then look for Corporal Dregg
… you will be directed to the ethics officer for the codex entry
Haven’t been offered quest as smuggler.
This isn’t the way to get it anymore du to the removal of this quest in the game after update 4.0
Incorrect. This quest still exists and the codex entry is obtained with either the Light or Dark Side choices.
It isn’t available for trooper either, so either this info is a load of BS or they STILL haven’t fixed this stupid codex entry. I found the guy you see for the quest.. BUT there is no quest available with him for me, he just tells me basically to bug off 🙁 It has to be available some other way.
Turn on your Exploration Missions on the map. I did and got the entry when I finished the quest.
Ok…. I found it as a trooper on 1.19.2021….
U need to go to CORPORAL DRAGE @ coordinates -266, -278, 28. pick the lightside answer. Then go to coordinates 68,68 and speak with ETHICS OFFICER DRAGE. after u will be rewarded the codex!
