As of 12/16/2011, I have yet to see or find anyone who has been able to locate or find a Terentatek on Tython, at all.
Once again I agree, this wee beasty is well hidden from prying Jedi eyes.
According to a forum post this entry is actually gained from Taris as part of a quest called ‘Jedi Relics’. I think it’s one of those entries like the cats on Tython that count as a bestiary entry for Alderaan
I ran that quest and didn’t receive it I’m fairly certain.
That info sprung from someone mistaking the Terentatek update for the Nekghoul update, I believe. I’ve done every quest in the game except for 3 bonus lines (Voss, Hoth, Belsavis) and I can assure you that the Terentatek is not found through regular questing, except, possibly, as a specific class (like the Sand Demon).
There are a few possible locations for this update. First, there’s the “Stalking Terentatek” located on Tython – fairly sure that doesn’t give an update, though I’ve not found it myself to check.
Second, there’s Belsavis, which has a ton of Terentateks all around the tomb area. I’ve killed most (if not all) of these without getting the update, so it seems unlikely, unless there’s a named hidden away somewhere. Always a possibility.
The most likely location seems to be a level 26-27 area with Enraged Terentatek (standard), Enraged Terentatek Alphas (strong), as well as Enraged Terentatek Juveniles (weak), but I’m not sure which planet these might be found on. They have only been datamined on torhead, and not actually assigned to a planet. I’m thinking they might’ve been part of an area quest or title questline that got removed, and the codex never got fixed to mirror this.
Hmm, now that I check it on torhead, it appears the codex entry is flagged as republic only. Which implies it IS the “Stalking Terentatek” on Tython that gives this update – noone has simply been able to find it, if it exists. Curious.
Spent all night scouring every crevasse of Tython. Either it doesn’t exist or its on a crazy long respawn.
Has anyone thought to bug this and get a CSR response?
CSR just now told me it is in game and on Tython. Couldn’t give more info than that.
It was in a Jedi Knight phase early on, on Tython, at least in Beta.
I have to point out that the Jedi Consular quest to get their Colour Crystal after meeting with the force ghost of Master Rajivari or whatever his name is, its the boss elite you face right after picking up the crystal.
I believe that gives you the codex….i have created a consular, so i will find out for myself.
That mob doesn’t give the codex entry. I did it 15 minutes before coming here to find the locations of the entries I am missing, and Terentatek is one of the ones I do not have.
I got this on my Jedi Knight in the final mission when the Terentatek attacks after i complete making my lightsaber I believe this may be a Jedi Knight ONLY CodeX!
Unfortunately, the guy above me (Michael) is incorrect.
The Terentatek isn’t even the monster that crawls up to the Forge anymore. It’s now the amphibian looking monster that throws a boulder at you.
@Kravis Can you please tell us where did you find him? Location coordinates, or even part of the map.
Looking for this darn beastie for hours. Can’t find it. Non-existant on Tython. Map coordinates would help.
I have searched for him since the beta with no luck. For some strange reason he is still a thorn in my eye :C .
So is this achievment even possible for non-JK? Or can I just hitch a ride while a JK is doing this quest and get it?
JUST made a new JK, it’s not in the bonus quest and it’s not on Tython.
They removed the Terentatek from the Achievement that involves beasts on Tython, but you still can’t complete the Codex entries, even though this shows they know there’s no Terentatek there.
I received the Entry a few seconds ago by killing the Unleashed Maelstrom Terentatek at the station Core of the Flashpoint “Maelstrom-Prison”.
Unlocked for me by a Customer Support agent. Apparently it is supposed to be for the elite beast you kill in the bonus quest for the final Jedi Knight quest in the JK phase.
No way to obtain this other than filing a CS ticket if you’re not a Jedi Knight.
So if you didn’t complete the bonus mission on your JK then you’re SOL? My level 50 JK is missing it, so I must not have finished the bonus…
you will have to rerun a jedi finish tython and you should get it i found that the jedi knight is the better one to go with i got this achievement last night it is what we all know as “the forge gardian”
The Entry is now obtainable for Republic Players by killing the Unleashed Maelstrom Terentatek at the station Core of the Flashpoint “Maelstrom-Prison”.
As of 9/4/2013 the Terentatek Bestiary entry has been moved to the Maelstrom Prison and attached to the Unleashed Maelstrom Terentatek.
Confirmed. Just now got it on my Knight, killing the Unleashed Maelstrom Tarentatek in the Maelstron Prison.
Obtained with JK. Not obtained with Trooper. Seems to only be for JK. Can get in story mode of flashpoint, first one @ 141,-697.

NOTE: this does not count for the needed “Terentatek Mauler” elite NPC on Korriban for achievement “Korriban Conquest”.

The “Terentatek Mauler” is found on Korriban, Tomb of Naga Sadow: Dashade Chamber (154,-637), as part of the quest ” A Map for the Future” for Sith Inquisitor.
