It has been 3 years since the world found out there is a triple-A MMORPG being made in the Star Wars universe. Everything about that announcement was exciting. People that are making it are Bioware – one of the most respected developers in the industry. It is the continuation of two very successful single player games – Knights of the Old Republic. It has a full backing by both Lucas Arts and Electronic Arts. I followed this closely and by the time the first CGI trailer “Deceived” got released I was a Bona Fide fan. I became an active part of the Star Wars: The Old Republic ™ community and about a year and a half ago I even started a fansite/blog to contribute to the community as much as possible. We have since reported about SWTOR from GamesCom and E3. We were invited to visit Bioware in Austin. We wrote about SWTOR for more than a year. It is now time to take our community involvement to another level.
We present to you the first version of our complete SWTOR database. As December 20. (the launch date of of The Old Republic) draws closer we wanted to provide to the SWTOR community something that will make adventuring through the Star Wars Universe a bit easier. MMORP Games are such huge universes that exploring them can sometimes prove to be a difficult task. That is where we would like to come in and help you out with our database. We will collect all the information found in the game and present it to you in an easy to browse and search form. We will try and bring you all the relevant information such as:
- All the quests in the game with branching options and screenshot walkthroughs
- Items database with tools to help you find best in slot items
- companion information with their quests, items and gifts.
- Datacron information
- Crew Skills information and extensive crafting tools
- Guides for all aspects of the game
- NPCs, Planets, Maps, Classes, Races and all that jazz
As you can see we have a very ambitious project planned. What you can see live now on the site is our alpha version of the site. This is about three weeks behind our development version and it lacks in both design features and functionality. However, it will only get bigger and better. We have decided not to release any information that Bioware has not released themselves. We do not believe in promoting our business through hurting other people’s work. Therefore most of the information will be hidden by our “NDA protection” technology (`TM` :)). Remember this though – the moment the NDA drops we will release a database containing all the information you would expect from a website like ours. In the meantime you can stay tuned to our progress through our Twitter account or through our RSS feed.
