We wrote about the possible names for the first SWTOR expansion some time ago. We talked about it with the developers and producers. That is why I am happy to report that it has been officially announced the first SWTOR expansion will be Rise of the Hutt Cartel. It will be a digital expansion that increases your level cap to 55 and provides a new planet Makeb that will hold new, fully voiced, story content. Subscribers will be able to pre-order it for $9.99, while F2P player will be able to purchase it for $19.99. If you pre-order by January 7, 2013 you will get 5 days of early access. The expansion is scheduled to appear in Spring 2013.
