Matrix Cube Guide

This guide is created as a resource for those who want to make their first Matrix Cube with a detailed explanation of the assembling and disassembling processes and a list of Matrix Shards color combinations. If you have any questions or additional information that you would like to share with us, we encourage you to leave a comment below or to join our forums discussion.

Almost each Planet has Datacron which contains Matrix Shard. There are four different Matrix Shards – Red, Green, Blue and Yellow that can be combined in Matrix Cube during the assembling process. The order in which the shards are placed in the assembler is irrelevant (you will get the same Matrix Cube for RGB or GRB or RBG or any other combination of red green blue shards), but the number of different Matrix Shard colors and character level determine Matrix Cube level. Low level Matrix Cubes (Level 15) require three different Matrix Shard colors and character level 15 to 23 while high level Matrix Cubes (Level 50) require only same Matrix Shard colors and character level 50.

Matrix Cubes are relics which grant you bonuses to some of your stats like Strength, Willpower, Endurance, Aim or Cunning, depending on the colors of Matrix Shards that have been used during the assembling process. Your character can create only one Matrix Cube at a time which can be equipped on your character (in the relic slot) or put in the Mission Inventory, but cannot be stored in cargo hold.

Matrix Cube Assembler

As a Republic player you can create Matrix Cube in the Lost Assembly Vault in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

As an Empire player you can create Matrix Cube in the Ancient Assembly Chamber in the Dark Temple on Dromund Kass.

Matrix Cube Disassembler

Matrix Cube can be transformed into Matrix Shards that you used for its creation by using the Matrix Disassembler machine located in the same room as the Assembler. For this process you need Reconfigured Disassembler Core item that can be purchased from a Jawa vendor on Tatooine Planet (Empire side: Tatooine – Mos Ila, Republic side: Tatooine – Anchorhead). The Reconfigured Disassembler Core costs 8,000 credits.

Matrix Shards color combinations

I’m interested in getting the M7-G0 cube but as a republic player how am I supposed to get 3 green matrix shards when there’s only one listed…

    • Comment by Mikro made on January 10, 2012 at 10:38 pm

You will get 3 green matrix shards as a Republic player form Taris, Corellia and Belsavis. We still need screenshots and walkthrough for Corellia and Belsavis planets.

  4. Comment by Seam made on January 10, 2012 at 10:33 am

Yes, I (Republic) am interesed in three greens too. How is that doable?

  5. Comment by Dei'gryn made on January 11, 2012 at 9:09 am

I got the Reconfigured Disassembler Core from the 8k lockbox standing at Ba’teil on Balmorra. It’s the vendor where you buy the key for the datacron in Bugtown.

    • Comment by Tiran made on March 2, 2012 at 1:13 am

There’s nothing near her to open. The only key she sells is to open the lockbox that the datacron back in the town is locked in. Please don’t post misleading information.

      • Comment by Me made on March 7, 2012 at 11:05 am

She actually do have a chest in the nearby tent that you can buy a key for aswell. I dont recall the contents though, but I did get a second key from her also

        • Comment by mose made on March 7, 2012 at 11:20 pm

i got the reconfigured disassembler core from the tent it is a lock box from tattoine

      • Comment by SaltShakin made on February 22, 2014 at 5:33 pm

There is a lockbox in her tent on Imperial Balmorra, but not on Republic Balmorra. The same lockbox can be found on Republic Taris (the reason being that Republic Taris is the analogue of Imperial Balmorra, I would imagine.)

I got the Reconfigured Disassembler Core from the junk vendor in Forward Research Camp in Tularan Marsh in Taris. It was in the box near the vendor and you had to buy the key for it for 8k credits.

    Red Yellow Yellow = 19 Strength, 24 Endurance (M3-O1)
    and

    Yellow Blue Blue = 24 Endurance, 19 Strength (M3-J2)
have the same stats? Is this correct?

  9. Comment by Matt Leggat made on January 19, 2012 at 1:44 pm

You can also get hold of the reconfigured dissassembler core from the same vendor that is in Bugtown on Balmorra. The one across the water from the site (where you need to purchase the code for the datacron in bugtown). if you purchase the 8000 credit item and then open the chest in the vendors tent, you get an astromech droid eye and the core. (at least i did.)

Used a green shard and 2 blue shards today, did NOT get the level 24 Aim / Endurance cube. Instead I got cube M7-G0, Level 50, 58 str, 50 endurance, 24 crit.

I’m a Level 27 Smuggler…How am I supposed to get the Second Yellow Matrix Shard for the Level 24 (M3-L1) Matrix Cube, if it’s located in a Level 34 Area of Nar Shaddaa that I can’t even get access to?

    • Comment by Martus made on January 23, 2012 at 1:51 pm

Its very hard but its not immpossible – I did it with my Gunslinger at Lvl 24. Avoid fights, if not possible let your companion fight and run away, jump on the crates, go up, hide from enemies who trying to get you. If you die – resurrect and use the time you are invisible to get closer to your goal.

      • Comment by Alm'ehyr made on February 23, 2014 at 3:33 pm

Or go for the yellow one in Ilum, its near imperial base, but you can get it before being agroed by mobs, just need to be faster enough.

at cords. X 706, Y 207, Z -172. Junk dealer, Bat’Theria on Taris has a Tatooine Import Crate next to her. She also sells the Import Code Cylinder. Inside the crate is a Reconfigured Disassembler Core.

Just by reading the information on the cubes, it looks like the Level 24 cubes Red Yellow Yellow and Yellow Blue Blue have the same stat values. Is that perhaps a typo, and one should have 24 strength, 19 Endurance?

The Vendor on Tatooine that sales the Reconfigured Disassembler Core is located at X:2124, Y4068 Name: Kitpth

You Can Also get the Reconfigured Disassembler Cores from vendor on Bug Island in Balmorra (Bonus Area). For the 8000 credits I paid the lady for the key to open the chest, I recieved 2x Reconfigured Disassembler Cores. You must find both Flight Paths that are revelead while doing the Balmorra Bonus Series to get there.

  21. Comment by Weehia made on February 16, 2012 at 9:39 am

You can also find a “Reconfigured Disassembler Core” for 8k on balmorra :

Go to bugtown, and find the vendor @ 672,38, the one who sells you the key to open the datacron’s chest. This vendor also send another key (the one for 8k) that opens a chest in the tent just near that very vendor…

Could someone confirm that Blue-Blue-Blue for Force Users has the same Stats like for Tech-Users ?
Comparing the lvl 50 Cubes, it should have somthing like 58 Endurance, 50 Willpower and 24 Crit.

    • Comment by Tiran made on March 2, 2012 at 1:26 am

NO, you can’t. She only sells a key to the box the datacron is locked in.

      • Comment by Daemonar made on March 12, 2012 at 6:46 pm

I can confirm it is possible to get the disassembler from the chest in the tent near vendor in bugtown. THis is chance based I believe because I have now done it with 3 toons, and gotten the disassembler twice.

        • Comment by Teryn made on March 13, 2012 at 5:52 am

Import Code Cylinder is the item your after. I have take screenshots of the location of the vendor whom you buy the item from, the item highlighted, the chest highlighted, the chest being opened, and then the two items I got from the chest. I have SEVEN characters, all gotten the Disassembler Core from this chest, mostly due to I not knowing where the Jawa vendor is that sells it on Tattooine. I do know that both items cost 8k credits. If the webmaster would like these screenshots, send me an email, and I’ll send them to you.

    Note about the line:
“As an Empire player you can create Matrix Cube in the Ancient Assembly Chamber in the Dark Temple on Dromund Kass.”

This should be more specific. The Assembly Chamber is NOT in the Dark Temple, but on the grounds on the Dark Temple, to the west (if facing the temple) on the map, at co-ords …

    • Comment by camelotcrusade made on April 6, 2012 at 9:01 pm

Just want to clarify something. The guide has the level 50 matrix cubes grouped by Tech User and Force User.

Does that mean only certain classes make certain kinds? I’m a trooper, so if I make a Blue-blue-blue I’ll get the same kind no matter what? But if I’m a Jedi, red-red-red will give me willpower, not cunning?

      Kind of confused. 🙂

There is a device like the matrix assembler on Ord Mantel. I didn’t have any shards at the time, so can’t confirm it does the same job. There is also a crystal alignment device near the shard holocron on Tython, don’t know what that is for either, any idea?

  32. Comment by Geldarion made on April 25, 2012 at 4:17 am

I took a screenshot of the vendor in Anchorhead so you can add that to the Matrix Disassembler Cube section.

  33. Comment by Ozzbourne made on May 2, 2012 at 4:21 pm

I got a question: When I create the Matrix Cube, how do I know if I’m making a force user one or a tech user one? Since the combinations for the level 50 ones are the same.

    (RRR = Willpower) Force
    (RRR = Cunning) Tech

Are there different assemblers or something?

    • Comment by Nortic made on July 2, 2012 at 11:56 pm

Hi, you probably already sussed this out but for anyone else that reads your comment, the answer is that the game just looks at your current character and works out which to give you. I have 2 characters, a Sith Assassin who has the RRR cube and an Imperial Agent who also has the RRR cube. They each got the correct cube for their class.

  34. Comment by Fulmarse made on June 22, 2012 at 3:40 pm

Red,Red,Red for republic force users? How is this possible when the republic can not get all three red shards?

          • Comment by Valakhnarr made on September 16, 2012 at 7:02 am

The red shards are easy for Republic players. The red shard on Ilum is located on top of the Rep base, you can get it at any level. The one on Hoth is fairly easy to get to as well; once you hit mid-30’s you should be able to go to the location without much trouble. Just make sure you have the Hydro-Thinner tool with you.

  37. Comment by Allysaala made on August 17, 2012 at 3:54 am

Republic players can indeed get all 3 red matrix shards…Ord Mantell, ilum and Hoth give them to Rep players

  38. Comment by thejynxed made on September 10, 2012 at 3:18 pm

    Your note about:

    Yellow Green Green = 29 Strength, 33 Endurance (M4-L0)

etc, it’s listed as that, but currently if you try to make that recipe, it won’t make anything. It just will refuse to make the cube.

    It’s still bugged from Beta.

The YRR is supposed to be the correct recipe for the (M4-L0) Matrix Cube. YGG is supposed to make either a Willpower + Endurance cube, that is stronger on the Willpower, or a Strength + End cube that is stronger on the Strength (and we will never know until they bother to fix it).

    • Comment by SaltShakin made on February 22, 2014 at 5:45 pm

      YGG makes 39 Str, 23 End (M4-L0)
No idea when the bug was fixed, but I just made one today without any errors.

I’m reading conflicting reports — some say Matrix Cubes can be stashed in your cargo hold while you go make another one, others say you can’t. I’m in the latter category. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems I can only make one cube, and cannot put one in any storage outside of my Mission Items Inventory. If anyone has advice let me know. Thx….

Oh, and what’s the purpose of the second artifact slot? I’m a lvl 55 but feel like such a noob asking such a basic question. lol

There are other relics in the game that do different things. Sometimes one drops, or you can buy them from the Light Side and Dark Side vendors on the fleet.

Sucks that you can’t make a second one. If you’re playing Neutral, the matrix shard relics are the only ones you can use (below max level).

The assembly chamber is not in the dark temple. It is located in the dark temple approach. Please correct this false information so people don’t waste their time looking throughout the dark temple for it.

Youre guide is fantastic but one of your cubes is wrong. Matrix cube M4-L0, yellow, green, green is +39 strength, +23 Endurance. You reversed the first two numbers.
